We produced different surface area samples by carrying
out surface finishing treatment after spraying Tio2 and examined its
antibacterial effects. As a result, the "as sprayedh surface area without the
after-treatment increased most, and the antibacterial effects were most
effective. The after- treatment which decreased the surface area of the sprayed
coating was unnecessary for giving sufficient antibacterial effects in the
sprayed coating of TiO2.
In addition' after examining the antibacterial effects of
the Tio2 sprayed coating for a various range of microorganisms such
as food contaminating microorganisms and food poisoning bacteria, the resulting
antibacterial effects of the Tio2 sprayed coating was sufficient
enough for non-spore bacteria such as Escherichia coli o-157, Salmonella Enteritidis
and Staphylococcus aureus.
